All Dressed In Pastel

These nails didn't come out at all like I wanted... Well the striped ones didn't anyway, I quite like the gradients. The vision I had of the striped ones were thick blocks of colour on the inside and outside, with thin lines in between them, they didn't quite come out like that.
The colours I used for these were Sinful Colors Pistache, Barry M Berry I/C, and and un-named Color Club blue. I did a base of W7 White underneath the gradients. I topped it all with China Glaze Fast Forward.

At least my first three colour gradient wasn't a disaster, that was the one good thing to come out of this mani I think.

Tape Mani

Here's a striping tape mani inspired by One Nail To Rule Them All. It was just so simple, but eye catching at the same time, I just had to give it a go. I went a slightly different colour scheme, with yellow and orange rather than pink and purple.
I did  base colour of an an-named Primark green. I then taped off some of my nail and used China Glaze Electric Pineapple and Barry M Block Orange where I wanted them to be. I topped it all off with China Glaze Fast Forward.

I wish I had yellows and oranges that were a bit more opaque, as both the ones I used here were a bit on the sheer side and I had to do about two coats of them over the green.

Dots And Stripes

I did my first attempt at a dotty gradient today, it didn't go too well. Although I do like the finished outcome, as it's not too messy. Also green and orange might just be my new fave colours to use together. The idea of this mani came about when I just wanted to do flowers and stripes again, but I thought that might be overkill of that combo at the moment, so I did dots.
I did a base colour of China Glaze Kalahari Kiss. Once that had dried I did the dots and stripes using China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise and Riveting. I topped it all of with Gosh Matte Effect top coat.

Riveting looks so amazing matte, I can't believe I hadn't tried that already. Plus it's the most amazing summer orange, it's nice and bright without being too in your face.

In The Summertime...

These nails just scream summer at me, I don't know if it's because if the colours of the flowers though. I do like the colours I used though, I was just going to be yellow, blue and green originally, but I decided last minute to add the orange, and I'm so glad I did.
I did a base colour of China Glaze Electric Pineapple. I then added the stripes and the flowers using China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise, Riveting, and Sally Hansen Sky's The Limit. I topped it all off with China Glaze Fast Forward

I'm still in love with stripes and the flowers though, they just seem to make a perfect combo to me right now. Plus I think they are better than just doing a stamp, as I can get more colour into the mani this way.

Green and Orange

More holoness today! Although I so wish I had another orange holo, as the one I used in this mani is so sheer that when I did the triangle I had to do it over white. The fact I had to paint it over white means that the mani looks a bit messy as I was feeling lazy when I did these, meaning I didn't wait until the white was dry.
I used Layla Emerald Divine and Hits Demeter, with some W7 White. I topped it all off with China Glaze Fast Forward

I should have been patient and waited for the white to dry rather than just painting over it. Although the end result is messy, I do love the colour combo. Props to my mum for picking these colours to go together.

Flowers and Holo

Taking a little break from stripes today (although I did almost do them in this mani). I am doing more of those cute little flowers though. Plus I finally managed to capture some shots of a holo polish, yay for that as I've always had great difficulty doing that before.
I did three coats of Hits Poseidon. I did flowers on the accent nail in two of the un-named Primark blues. I topped everything off with China Glaze Fast Forward.

Sorry about the really bad cuticles and skin, I've been slacking in my nail routine lately

I was going to do a whole flower mani, but after putting on Poseidon, I just couldn't bring myself to cover up that much of it so I went with an accent nail instead. Also I don't know why it looks like I have tip wear, as I took these photos as soon as I finished painting them.

More Stripes!

Are you bored of them yet? I went with a pastel colour scheme this time, with a chevron accent nail. The chevrons took ages, but I think that might have been because it was very first time doing a full freehand chevron nail. I'm quite proud of the chevron nail even though it's not perfect.
I did a base colour of W7 White, and then I did the stripes using Barry M Mint Green, Berry I/C, Essie We're All In It Together, Barielle Swizzle Stixs, and NYC Lexington Yellow. I topped it all of using China Glaze Fast Forward.

My friend told me that my nails looked like candy when she saw these, I'm gonna take that as a compliment. I don't think I'll ever do a full chevron mani though, as it takes far too long to do, plus it might just be overkill.

Flowers and Stripes

Doing two of my new fave designs today, the flowers and some stripes. You can never go wrong with flowers and stripes this time of year. Plus I just got China Glaze Electric Pineapple in the mail, and it ws just the perfect base colour for this mani, it might be my new favourite yellow.
Base colour of Electric Pineapple. I painted the flowers and stripes on with Sally Hansen Sky's The Limit add Barry M Block Orange. Top coated with China Glaze Fast Forward.

I love this colour combo, I don't even know why I decided to use these colours. I just sort of picked them up and thought that they would look great together, and I'm so glad they did. It just screams summer without being too in your face about it.

I don't think I've ever done a full striped mani, and I think I should have done one sooner because I love them! Plus I really like the colours I used for this one, I see more stripy manis in my future.
I did a base colour of W7 White. I then painted the stripes using China Glaze Designer Satin, Barry M Bright Purple, Block Orange, A England Galahad, Sinful Colors Innocent and a Un-named Primark Blue. I topped it all off with China Glaze Fast Forward.

So, yeah, I think that there may be a few stripy manis for a little while now. They are so simple, but effective, how can you not love them.

Black and Blue

I've used another of my Emily De Molly  polishes in today's mani, although I could not at all capture the beauty of it. It just sparkles so much in the sunlight. I only used it as an accent nail though, as I thought using it on all my fingers might be a bit too dark as I felt like doing a summery mani.
I did base colours of Emily De Molly Dark Crystal on the ring and Barielle Swizzle Stixs on the rest. Once that was dry I stamped over the blue nails with A England Tristam and Cheeky image plate CH7. I topped everything off with China Glaze Fast Forward.

Seriously though Dark Crystal has amazing holo sparkle in it when it's in sunlight, but I had so much difficulty photographing it. Maybe if it's sunny next time I want to do a dark coloured mani I'll get this out again and see if I can do a better job and photographing it.
